Exclusively licensed from radio and television syndicator Hartwest Productions, these never before released shows were created for a syndication run in the mid 1960’s. The shows, created in a format identical to Shepherd’s WOR New York radio shows of the day (right down to his familiar theme music) were long lost and forgotten until rediscovered during a warehouse inventory. This is vintage Shepherd with all the classic elements of his radio work combining humor, story telling, kazoo playing, and general philosophizing on everyday life and the nature of man.
Each collection has been digitally remastered and restored, packaged in a bookshelf-style case, and include liner notes with excerpts from Excelsior, You Fathead! The Art and Enigma of Jean Shepherd by Eugene B. Bergmann. |
